It turns out that Windows 10 has an option to set any application to use the high graphics driver, so I set my lotroclient64.exe to that driver, took it out of compatibility mode, and problem solved. The LOTRO installer couldn't figure this out. One driver is for low power usage, and the other is for high graphics usage. Next I discovered that my system shipped with two video drivers, as some newer systems do. I initially made some progress by running LOTRO in Windows compatibility mode. One is that new systems don't always have the older direct-x installed, nor the dx10 or dx11. There were a couple of problems contributing to this. I had similar problems when I tried to install LOTRO on a new computer that also had DX12. Is this a new problem? or is there a fix ? I looked up my dxdiag, and it says I have DIRECT-X v12! LOTRO Crashes, saying I need DIRECT-X v9.
